Message from the Headmaster
As the year draws to a close, it is a great opportunity to celebrate all that has been achieved this year. Our staff have been discussing their accomplishments and celebrations, and we love to acknowledge the great work that has been completed. I would love to encourage you to have a similar conversation with your children over the next couple of weeks. No doubt, your children have been making progress in many areas. This may have been in their academic development, feeling a sense of achievement at the improvement that they have made. Maybe, it has been in a particular endeavour on the sports field, dance group or similar experience where they have worked hard and accomplished a personal best. It is a helpful exercise to reflect on our improvements, to think about how we have grown and developed over the past year, and to be thankful for the opportunities that we have had.
Here are a few simple questions that might start a conversation with your children:
- Tell me one of your highlights of this year
- What is something you are really proud of from this past year?
- What subject have you made the most progress in this year?
- What have you enjoyed most about 2022 so far?
- What are three things that you are really thankful for?
We look forward to our end-of-year assemblies and presentation evenings, where we will be able to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students.

College Working Bee - Tomorrow!
Community is a wonderful part of being at Wollondilly and a good way to build this and meet new people is through the College Working Bees. We have our final one of the year this Saturday, 26 November. The focus will be on tidying/ cleaning up the Lambert Garden between the Melba and Sturt buildings. The College P&F will be running breakfast (bacon and egg rolls) from 7.30 am - 8.00 am instead of a sausage sizzle at lunch.
It would be great to have a large turnout for the final Working Bee of the year. If you can give even just 30 minutes or an hour, we would love to see you. Many hands make light work!
What a Generous Community
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown over the last few weeks for the Community Links drive. We are thankful for the donations of food to support this organisation. Please remember we are asking for donations to support Community Links in place of the gold coin donation on the last day of Term 4. These donations will be used for hampers to support families in need over the Christmas period.
Mr Paul Burns
Deputy Headmaster
Year 9 Leadership
On Thursday, 1 December all students in Year 9 will participate in a session with Wellbeing Presenter Dan Merza. The title of the session is "Leader of Your Life" This session focuses on personal leadership, goals, high performance, resilience, inspiration and empowerment. In combination with the recent Peer Support Training and the stage of development for students in Year 9, the focus of the session is designed to challenge students in these areas as they move into Year 10 and beyond.
Students will attend this session in three groups across the course of the day, to decrease student numbers and maximise engagement with the content and speaker. I would encourage all parents to discuss the focus areas of the session prior to the day with their child and conduct follow-up with them post the session to see what feedback they have and how it has impacted their thinking. Particularly for students who have been involved in areas such as SRC, Peer Support or Duke of Edinburgh, and generally for all those continuing to work toward academic goals this session, will hopefully allow for reflection and for some self-focus areas moving forward.
Mr Liam Toland
Director of Pastoral Care T-12
Community Outreach
On the last day of Term 4, Thursday, 8 December we normally have a Gold Coin Collection to support a Charity of the Student Representative Council's choice. This year we will have a collection of the following items to support the initiatives of Wollondilly Community Links in supporting the provision of hampers for Christmas to families in need in the local area. All students in Years T-12 and staff are encouraged to participate in this initiative.
Wollondilly Community Links will collect the donations on the last day of the term. Year 10 students can donate on Wednesday-Friday of Week 8 as they conclude on Friday 2nd December. All other Year groups will be collected on Wednesday, 7 December and Thursday, 8 December during Roll Call Time.
This is a great opportunity to be outward in our thinking and support those in need. Please give generously.
Mr Liam Toland
Director of Pastoral Care T-12

Term 4 Working Bee
The Term 4 Working Bee is on Saturday, 26 November 2022 from 7.30 am until 12.00 pm.
The morning will commence with a BBQ breakfast between 7.30 am and 8.00 am. If you plan to attend the breakfast, please RSVP to email: k.frederiksen@wac.nsw.edu.au
There are a number of jobs that require attention:
- The main focus will be to beautify the John Lambert Garden (the garden between Sturt and Melba). This includes weeding, branch removal and mulching
- Rubbish collection
- Leaf blowing
Please note, we only have a limited supply of tools and equipment, therefore it is important that you bring your own gardening tools, blowers, gloves and anything else you think might help on the day.
This is a great opportunity for you to work alongside others within the College community.
We look forward to seeing you there.

The Festival of Fun will provide the residents of Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Shire with an opportunity to come together and have fun. 10.00 am - 2.00 pm Sunday, 27 November 2022 at Bargo Sports Ground.
The Festival of Fun will have food trucks, amusement rides, inflatables, service stalls and more! This will be a great opportunity to reconnect with our community, have fun and share joy!
