From The Headmaster
As you are aware, our College recently completed a comprehensive review of all aspects of our College. This was conducted by staff from many different Anglican Colleges. One of the standout commendations was for our students' outstanding behaviour, respect and friendliness. We are so proud of our students and are thankful to our parents who consistently reinforce these important messages of respect with their children.
The following comments were received in our Review Report:
- "Overwhelmingly, students were respectful, polite, open to conversation and felt connected to broader College culture and life."
- "They [the students] displayed genuine kindness and care towards one another."
- "The students are a delight!"
Another commendation was for our staff and I am thankful to be working with so many amazing people.
- "Staff are genuinely happy to be part of this learning environment"
- "There is a warmth and generosity in every College endeavour."
- "Staff care very deeply for their colleagues"
- "Staff are united in their concern for students as whole people (not just learners) and were willing to invest deeply in their work as a result."
I feel privileged to lead this wonderful College and am thankful to all our staff, students and parents for making our College community what it is.
Mr Trevor Norman

3-6 Athletics Carnival - Friday, 28 June - WACA
The WAC Primary Athletics Carnival is being held on Friday, 28 June at the WACA. Students are reminded to wear their House Sports Shirts for the day. 800m competitors will need to be on the WACA by 8.00 am sharp to begin the race. All other students will need to meet their class teachers at 8.10 am so they can walk up to the WACA in their Year Groups. Parents are welcome to attend. Please park in the Flynn Carpark and walk across the bridge, making your way to the back oval (WACA)
WASP Football Academy - Returning In Term 3
Information will be released in the coming weeks for any parents wishing to enrol their children in the WASP Football Academy. For experienced players from Years 4-8 only.
Community Sport - Koa Van Althius-Jones - National Baseball
Koa and his team competed in the multi-day National Baseball Tournament two weeks ago. Some of the days were washed out, however, this still left room for a few action-packed days of baseball. Amazingly, Koa’s team took out 6th Place in Australia, which is a fantastic effort for a team of 10 and 11 year-olds considering they were up against the older age group of 12 and 13. This is a great result for a team who were considered underdogs going into the competition.
Well done Koa!
Coming Weeks of IPSSO:
- 26 June - WAC BYE
- 3 July - Away vs Broughton Anglican College

This will occur on Thursday, 4 July on the WACA. All students are expected to be in attendance, wearing their House Polo Shirts. ICAS Competitions
Each year, Secondary students have the opportunity to participate in ICAS competitions for English, Science, and Mathematics. ICAS is an online academic competition that allows students to challenge their higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area.
Students can express their interest in participating in any of these competitions by completing the form they have been sent on Canvas. Alternatively, parents or students are welcome to contact me directly via k.webb@wac.nsw.edu.au.

From the College Chaplain
The College Learner Disposition focus for Term 2 is being Resourceful. This is a habit that we are working on developing and cultivating in our students. Enduring and persevering with challenges in learning, character and faith all support these areas to grow.
Are you someone who asks a lot of questions? Asking questions is a pivotal part of how we as individuals grow. Peter Abelard contends that;
"The master key of knowledge is, indeed, a persistent and frequent questioning"
Abelard contends that asking questions is essential to grow in understanding and knowledge. Abelard encourages us to have curious minds that seek to learn and the means of attaining this understanding is fostering a mindset which frequently asks questions. This mindset is something that I encourage all students to have as they approach Christianity.
This week at our Secondary Christian Group (CRU), we had over 60 students gather together for some food, fun and fellowship. During this time, all students are encouraged to ask questions. Why? So that they might grow in their understanding and knowledge of God. It's a privilege to walk alongside these students as they continue to explore what it means to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus. I think Abelard is right, persistent and frequent questioning is indeed the master key to knowledge.
I ask you, what questions about Christianity do you have that are floating around unanswered? I encourage you to ask those questions and pursue answers. If you're not sure who to ask, please reach out to me - I'd love to chat through them with you.
Have a great weekend!
